The next type of a king size bed frame is the California King. You can easily remember its measurements. This is + (plus) 4 and - (minus) 4 in length and width. So the length of a king size bed frame of the California King will be 84 inches and the width drops to 72 inches. So, in this sense, the California King is slightly different in size, though it is recognized as a king size bed frame.
People with even that extra height are still able to use it, as the CK itself is 7 feet long. So, this is much appreciated by the taller people. The markings on the linens for this style are 'California King'. However, again a word of advice, get the measurements checked for yourself for confirmation.
Any king size bed, for that matter, needs to be checked and rechecked to get the exact measurements for you. Do not always believe the given measurements as they can get faulty at times. Secondly, the measurements of a king frame can change due to your own negligence or unawareness. Like mentioned above, if you use a topper for your mattress, the measurements are bound to change.
As far as the names are concerned, a standard king bed can be addressed as an Eastern Bed and the California Bed is also known as the Western Bed. So it is important not to get confused in the names.
